Ariana Rockefeller Designs Bag for Longines Masters

The Longines Masters isn’t just packing its bags for the move from Los Angeles to New York in April, but making a bag. EEM, which produces the “grand slam” of indoor show jumping (the series also travels to Paris and Hong Kong), commissioned a limited-edition saddle bag by participating equestrian and fashion designer Ariana Rockefeller. Though EEM has partnered on a bag before — with Gucci — the group wanted to really get inside the sport, according to chief marketing officer Marissa Brooks. “It’s great to have a top designer, but even better to have the point of view of a rider,” she said, the day after the bag’s preview during a Champagne reception attended by Hannah Selleck, Georgina Bloomberg, Chloe Reid and Laura Kraut at Rockefeller’s home in Wellington, Fla., last week. “It was important to work directly with a rider. She’s the centerpiece.” Retailing for $550 through Rockefeller’s web site, the tack-inspired canvas and grain leather bag with saddle curves, buckles and stitching comes in grey on grey, the signature palette of Longines Masters, as well as natural with brown trim.
