MILAN — Safilo Group has inked an exclusive distribution agreement with the Thailand-based Supreme Eyewear specialist for the Thai and Cambodian markets. Established over 40 years ago, Supreme Eyewear is one of the leading local eyewear distributors, operating both in the retail and wholesale businesses. Thailand and Cambodia mark a further step in Safilo’s development in the APAC region and in the global commercial expansion, which is key in Safilo’s 2020 strategic plan. Broadened over the past four years, the firm’s distribution network, currently counts 42 countries worldwide. “[Thailand and Cambodia] have good potential across both the diffusion and luxury segments, including Atelier,” said Safilo Group’s chief executive officer Luisa Delgado. “Supreme has a unique expertise to develop our brands in these markets and drive trends” thanks to its “rigorous distribution standards and ability to target doors in a differentiated way, reflecting our brands’ diverse propositions.” Safilo designs, produces and distributes eyewear collections for fashion labels including Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Max Mara and Marc Jacobs, among others. In January, Safilo established an Atelier division dedicated to the design of hyper-luxury eyewear collections. The line launched with licensed label Elie Saab Couture and house brand Oxydo. In 2016, Safilo registered net sales for 1.25 billion euros.
